The representative stereotypes of women in western society are challenged by contrasting sexualized bodies against their feminist opposition. I combine found images from the Internet and textiles to create a satirical expression of my social critique, with regards to feminist values. My use of ‘domestic arts,’ such as cotton, embroidery thread and ribbon, references the artistic traditions of women in the Second-Wave Feminist Movement. I free my subjects’ bodies from their base objectification into symbols of sexual freedom and liberation by incorporating objects of female sexual desire.
